Xie Shen
Yanfu,Laoyan are his pen names.He was born in Xi’an in 1942 with Longzhong, Hubei Province his ancestral hometown .Young Xie Shen studied oil painting in the Middle School Attached to Zhongnan Arts Training School and Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts with later changing to study Chinese traditional painting. He was influenced by Mr. Shi Yinglu and increasingly formed a creative style by painting mountains and waters, people, and many New Year pictures of baby。
Since 1980, he has held more then 10 exhibitions in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, Japan, Singapore and Chinese Taiwan. And UNICEF has collected and published his paintings.
Xie is now standing director of Wuhan Artists Association of China People's Political Consultative Conference, evaluation commissioner of professional high-ranking affair of industrial arts in Hubei province, visiting researcher of Hubei Research Academy of Art and Design, provincial master of art and design.
Xie has been very famous for his New Year pictures of baby. In fact, his paintings of mountains, waters and people are also very excellent and unique.
In 1995，he held exhibition together with his daughter Yanzi in Gaodi World Art Gallery, Shenzhen.
In 1993，he visited Singapore and held exhibition together with his daughter Yanzi in Great Hall of Singapore
In 1992，he visited Germany and held his solo exhibition in the hall of Optimus Bank in Duisburg
