Wu Linsheng
Born in Rui’an, Zhejiang Province, 1923
Graduated from the Department of Art in the Central University with Mr. Chuan Baoshi his tutor. He specializes in mountains and waters painting.
He paints with bold strokes of the brush and lively conception. For many times his works have been selected into national art exhibitions and the exhibitions of contemporary painting of Chinese traditional style. Early or later, they were displayed or collected by museums or put into selections in the U.S., Japan, Canada, Australia and so on. In 1979,he was invited to join the national artists delegation to visit West Germany and France for art communication. He has delivered theses and monographs including Chuan Baoshi’s Traditional Chinese Painting Art(English Edition), Chuan Baoshi(French Edition), the Distinction of Fu Baoshi’s Painting, the Stone Art of Chuan Baoshi. From 1985 to 1988, he held his solo exhibitions early or later in Nanjing, Guangzhou and so on. And he has come out with Wu Linsheng’s Painting Collection. He is now member of China Artists Association and artist of Jiangsu Academy of Traditional Chinese Painting.
