Ren MengLong
Ren Menglong, male, associate professor of Beijing Arts and
crafts School and Beijing Vocational Arts and Crafts College,
was born in December 1942, Hebei Province. Child as he was, he
began to learn Chinese painting from his father, Ren Suaiying
and then from Wang Shuhui. After graduating from Beijing Arts
and Crafts School, He stayed there and served as a teacher. In
1988, he graduated from Central Arts and Crafts Academy. He’s
good at exquisite drawing with close attention to the detail
Spring Festival pictures, picture-story book, and
illustration. Most of the works follow historical theme. The
painting style and construction is scrupulous and attentive,
the colors mix harmonious, the figure is beautiful. Since the
60s, his works have been exhibited and published in and out of
China. His masterpieces include Chinese traditional
painting Cai Wenji, Celebrating Birthday, Pictures of
Qu zixing, Pictures of Zhong Kui, Mu Kesai etc. The
picture-story books are the legends of the Eight Immortals,
Afterlife Date, Woman Hero in White. The works published
are The Line Drawing Atlas of Chinese Character Painting,
Book of Character Painting. Chinese traditional
Painting Pictures of infants is collected into The
Treasured Collections of Painting and Calligraphy of
Zhongnanhai and Auspicious Dragon Painting, which now is
collected in the Mao Zedong Memorial Hall. His works
Confucius is collected in The Beijing Artists Roll.
He was invited to hold Chinese traditional painting and
calligraphy exhibition in The United States and teach there.
His works entered Chinese traditional celebrated painting and
calligraphy exhibition, one of the Chinese Culture Festival
activities held in the 1999, France. His resume is collected
respectively in Chinese Contemporary Celebrated in Arts,
Dictionary of Chinese Contemporary Traditional Painting
Artists, Dictionary of Chinese Contemporary Artists,
World-famous Who’s who, The contemporary Literature Part of
Chinese Character Dictionary. Now, he is a member of Chinese
Artists’ Association, Beijing Branch; the advanced member of
Chinese Arts and Crafts Academy, member of Qi Baishi Art
Research, member of Beijing Traditional Chinese Realistic
Painting Association; advisor of the Painting and Calligraphy
Association of Beijing Industry University and professor of
Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Correspondence University.
