Pu Songchuang(1913.10.22 - 1991)
Originally named Alsin-Gioro Puquan,His pen names are Xuexi,Yaoxian,Jianzhai,Born in Beijing,Manchu nationality,He once held concurrent posts as lecturer and professor in Beiping State-Owned Art Training School, professor in the arts extension class in Peking University. After the establishment of People's Republic of China, he joined Beijing Institute of New Chinese Traditional Painting.
And he once was deputy to the 7th,8th,9th National People's Congress, member of China Artists Association, Beijing Artist Association, Beijing Calligraphy Research Society, China's Association for Calligrapher, adviser and vice dean of the creation committee in Zhongshan Institute of Calligraphy and Painting, director of China's Institute of Calligraphy and Painting for Aging People and Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles. He specializes in calligraphy and painting, and focuses on mountains, waters and people.
In 1985, he was engaged as researcher in the Central Research Institute of Literary and History
In 1956, he painted from life along the route of Red Army's Long March Then he created Painting of Long March together with Xu Yansun,Wang ,Xuetao and so on.
Early or later, he has lectured on Chinese traditional painting in some art and normal colleges and universities around Beijing and Tianjin.
In 1958, he worked in Beijing Academy of Chinese Traditional Painting.
In 1953, he joined Beijing Institute of Chinese Traditional Painting, and worked as executive commissioner and chief secretary of the secretariat. In 1955,he was selected as director.
