Cong HongBo
Cong Hongbo
(1949), specialist of Chinese painting, comes from Fushan,
Shandong province. He reveled in calligraphy, painting and
literature from his infancy. He took the famous painters and
literators Wang Senran, Wu Zuoren, Li Kuchan, Wang Xuetao, Xu
Linlu, Gao Langxian, Chen Wenbin, Guang Songfang as his
masters successively. In 1968, he was recruited as a navy man
and demobilized to Beijing as a civil aviation worker in 1973.
In 1980, he organized the “Yixing Calligraphy and Painting
Association” formed by some outstanding experts and
specialists in the fields of calligraphy, painting, Chinese
fork arts, films, playdom and literature, and acted as
chairman. Later, on the basis of this association “Yandu
Calligraphy and Painting Research Association” was formed with
Zhao Puchu as chairman and it ranked as one of the
organizations of the Democratic and Progressive Party Beijing
Branch. Now Cong Hongbo holds the posts of advisor of China
Arts Development Company under the Culture Ministry of China,
chairman of Yandu Calligraphy and Painting Research
Association, executive secretary of Wang Senran Academic
Research Association and advisor of Beijing Jixiantang Art
Shop.
In 1986, he held a personal exhibition in Chinese Art Museum,
and was widely praised by friends home and abroad. His Chinese
painting masterpieces are Heroes Praised, On the Top of the
Rich. His poetic masterpiece is The Furnace of
Revolution. In 1984, his Collection of Cong Hongbo’s
Drawing was published and released by Historical Relics
Publishing house.
